SMMC Bariatric Coordinator

Billie graduated from Washburn University with a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree in Marketing. She also received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Baker University, graduating with honors. Recently Billie was credentialed as Certified Bariatric Nurse through the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Nursing.

Billie has been employed as the Bariatric Coordinator at Shawnee Mssion Medical Center since November, 2007.  Before joining SMMC, she was employed at the Bariatric Center of Kansas City for several years as a clinic and nurse educator. Billie has also been employed in the past by a bariatric physician, Dr. Rick Tague in Topeka, Kansas. Billie's strengths have always been in her ability to instruct and counsel patients in health promotion techniques through proper nutrition and exercise.
