Bariatric Center of Kansas City Events:

Informational Seminars – Complimentary informational seminars about Laparoscopic Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass, LapBand Gastric Banding Surgeries and Lap Sleeve Gastrectomy are open to the public.  These are held every three weeks at Shawnee Mission Medical Center in the Shawnee Mission Conference Room. This conference room is located inside the Human Resources Entrance at the east end of the medical center.  Registration Required - See Bariatric Seminar Registration on our home page for more information and specific seminar dates.

Support Group Meetings – Open only to patients of the Bariatric Center of           

                 Kansas City and their support person due to limited seating please         

• Gastric Bypass & Sleeve Support Group - the first Thursday of each month and the third Wednesday of each month (*** denotes special exceptions to these dates)
• LapBand Support Group - the third Wednesday of each month & the 4th Thursday of each month (*** denotes special exceptions to these dates)
• Our support groups are moderated by registered nurses or other health professionals.  We frequently have speakers and special events as well as small group discussions on pertinent topics.  We highly encourage active participation and input from our patients.   No registration required.
