Bariatric Center of Kansas City Events:

Informational Seminars – Complimentary informational seminars about Laparoscopic Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypass, LapBand Gastric Banding Surgeries and Lap Sleeve Gastrectomy are open to the public.  These are held every three weeks at Shawnee Mission Medical Center in the Shawnee Mission Conference Room. This conference room is located inside the Human Resources Entrance at the east end of the medical center.  Registration Required - See Bariatric Seminar Registration on our home page for more information and specific seminar dates.       

Support Group Meetings – Sponsored by Shawnee Mission Medical Center       

• Gastric Bypass & Sleeve Support Group - held the first Thursday of each month* between 3:30 and 5:00 p.m. in the SM Conference Room at Shawnee Mission Medical Center.

• LapBand Support Group - held the third Thursday of each month** between 3:30 and 5:00 p.m. in the SM Conference Room at Shawnee Mission Medical Center.

• Our support groups are moderated by registered nurses or other health professionals.  We frequently have speakers and special events as well as small group discussions on pertinent topics.  We highly encourage active participation and input from our patients. No registration is required.

PLEASE NOTE: The March Roux-en-y/Sleeve support group meeting will be held in Room 23 of the Life Dynamics building on the SMMC campus.
