We are a surgical weight loss program located in Shawnee Mission, Kansas that provides surgical excellence within a compassionate atmosphere along with lifelong quality patient support.

The Bariatric Center of Kansas City has been in practice since 2002, providing weight loss surgery care to hundreds of patients in the metropolitan Kansas City and surrounding mid-west areas. Our program provides all the essential components as recommended by the National Institute of Health to achieve successful laparoscopic weight loss surgery. These include patient education both individually and through public seminars, full preoperative evaluation of each patient's mental and physical health, coordination of care, assistance with insurance issues, and post-operative support groups in order to help ensure the safety and success of our patients.

Weight loss surgery is not cosmetic surgery, nor does it actually "remove" a patient's excess weight. It is a TOOL that assists in weight loss and weight maintenance for patients who are 100 or more pounds overweight and who have failed weight loss through traditional dietary and behavior modifications.
